“Today, Disney+ ordered its next animated series from Lucasfilm, Star Wars: The Bad Batch. Fresh off of the critically-acclaimed series finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the Disney+ original series will premiere on the streaming service in 2021.
The series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch — a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possess a singular exceptional skill, which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose.

It’s a great shame it also can’t be set during the Clone Wars. That is the greatest Star Wars era, in my own humble opinion.

Not Everybody was Enamored with The Clone Wars Resurrecting Maul Character Deaths Retconned from the old EU Ahsoka Surviving Barriss Offee Turning to the Dark Side Retconning The Mandalorians Order 66 being caused by Microchips Anakin Knowing of his Future in the Mortis Arc (which was erased from his Memory) Politics etc. etc. etc. some fans of the old Eu Don’t like it including youtubers who it doesn’t fit with the old timeline (which Lucas said was never canon to begin with).

@Joe The Clone Wars was handled very well under Lucas. It may have annoyed you that Maul came back but this is GL making the decision, not some shareholder-lead corporation that bought Star Wars.

Other issues with TCW is that it didn’t mesh well with the films. Often the series would deviate hard from the PT films or retcon them in an obnoxious attempt to “fix them.” Basically trying to fix what isn’t broken. Many PT fans like myself are sick of hearing how “TCW saved the PT.” If anything, TCW is so different from the films that it is a separate continuity, a different timeline, etc.
As for Maul, I have heard several times that the decision to bring him back was not entirely Lucas like igbis often paraded around. Either way, it was a bad decision from a storytelling perspective, for marketing its great, especially since Maul was brought back right around the TPM 3D rerelease for cross promoting. IMO, both Filoni and TCW and Rebels are very overrated.

And many PT fans like myself are sick of people like you suggesting the TCW has to be bashed in order to protect the prequels. If a bunch of idiots claim they “saved” the PT, then are not doing any better by taking the extreme opposite opinion.
